Kostas & Paula, New York wedding !

Kostas and Paula got married in New York City at City Hall. On the day of their wedding they had a small dinner with few close friends and family at St. Regis hotel and a day after that they threw a party at Limani restaurant in Long Island. These are the simple facts and they have nothing to do with what really happened in the days I spent with them in NY.. Kostas and Paula are the kind of people that can’t be described with simple facts. When you are around them you learn how to see with your heart and touch with your soul. By entering their world you understand what it means to show hospitality, to be generous, to treat friends as family and to live each moment to the fullest. This is probably one of the longest posts I have made so far (if not the longest) and it is the first time I feel as a photographer that a camera is just not capable of capturing such an experience.. To do it right I would need a medium able to “see” deep inside us the joy of love. Nevertheless I tried as hard as I could to deliver something equal to the memory of those feelings and I hope from the bottom of my heart to have succeeded just a little bit so I can give back to them a small part of what they gave me.. Giannis & Andrea, New York engagement session !

NEW YORK ! I was preparing the images for the post and I was feeling thrilled reliving the experience ! When Giannis and Andrea emailed me for their wedding this summer, no one could expect what was going to happen.. The date they were interested in was unfortunately not available but since they are living in NY and I was going to be in the Big Apple to capture Kosta’s and Paula’s wedding (their post will follow in a few days !), we seized the day and arranged to have an engagement session. Great so far huh ? The truth is I realized how lucky I am when I finally met them.. Not only G & A are super looking, we started cracking jokes immediately, the ice broke in a blink of an eye and good time started to flow ! We spent the whole day together making images walking from Tribeca to Soho, in the subway on our way to NY Public Library and to Grand Central Station in Midtown Manhattan and when the night fell we made so more shots inside the luxurious Plaza Hotel and the modern Hudson Hotel next to the Central Park. We only stopped to buy 2 cupcakes inside the Plaza Food Hall ! What else can I say.. I feel jealous of the photographer who will be with you on your wedding day..! Call me when you come to Athens because it’s my turn to show you around .

Bruce & Helen, engagement session in Geneva, Switzerland !

When Bruce and Helen decided to have me as their photographer for their wedding in Geneva, all I could think of is how lucky I am to be able to travel and work in new and beautiful destinations. Few days ago when I finally met Bruce and Helen to shoot their engagement session I realized once more that the most important element in my photography and generally in life is the people. People that are openhearted, kind and giving make us want to smile, improve and be good to others. A sincere “thank you” for your hospitality and for making us feel like being among friends.. Regarding our photoshoot everything was great except from the weather. We managed to pick the colder day of my staying in Geneva ! That changed our plans to move around Lake Geneva and the famous Jet d’Eau and we decided to have more images inside the Mamco museum which provided us shelter. After that we had a quick pass from the Old Town, the Museum of Art and History (where there was an amazing exhibition about Picasso) and finished at Rue de Rive which is in the shopping heart of Geneva. Before the images I would like to admit that guys you were right, Philippe Pascoët in Carouge and Auer chocolatier had the best chocolate I have ever tasted.

Quand Bruce et Helen m’ont choisi pour prendre les photos de leur mariage à Génève, ce à quoi je pouvais seulement penser à quel point je pouvais être chanceux de voyager et de travailler dans de si beaux endroits. Cela fait quelques jours que j’ai fait la connaissance de Bruce et Helen et que je me suis rendu compte encore une fois que, ce qui est le plus important dans ma façon de prendre des photos mais aussi dans la vie, ce sont les personnes. Celles qui sont sincères, généreuses et gentilles. Celles qui nous font sourire, devenir meilleur et être bons avec les autres. Un grand merci pour votre hospitalité;On se sentait comme chez soi. En ce qui concerne la séance photo tout s’est bien déroulé sauf le temps. On s’est retrouvé le jour où il a fait le plus froid à Genève lors de mon séjour. C’est ce qui nous a fait annuler nos plans de balade autour du lac de Génève et du fameux Jet d’Eau. On a donc décidé de prendre d’abord plus de photos dans le musée de Mamco où on a trouvé un abri et ensuite, de faire un tour rapide à la vieille ville, le musée d’Art et d’Histoire (où une exposition magnifique sur Picasso a eu lieu) pour finir avec la Rue de Rive, le quartier commercial de Génève. Avant de vous plonger dans les photos, je voudrais vous dire que vous aviez raison; Philippe Pascoët in Carouge et Auer chocolatier avaient le meilleur chocolat que j’ai jamais goûté !

A Wedding in Paris

When I decided to get into the wedding photography business, if someone had told me I would be capturing weddings in places like Paris, Rome, London or New York, I probably would have thought that he is kidding me.. Lazaros and Natasa is one of the couples that made this dream come true and I just can’t thank them enough for that. They had a truly wonderful wedding at the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Stephen and the reception took place at the Hotel de Crillon. Enjoy the images !

Quand j’ai décidé de faire des photographies de mariage , si quelqu’un m’ avez dit que je prendrais des photos à des endroits tels que Paris, Rome, Londres ou New York, il serait probable que je ne l’aurais jamais cru. Lazaros et Natasha est l’un des couples qui m’a aidé à réaliser mon rêve et c’est pourquoi je ne pourrai jamais suffisamment les remercier. Leur mariage à l’église orthodoxe de Saint-Stéphane et la reception à Crillon ont été magnifiques !

Sometimes things flow so easily that is seems like you have been planning for ages ! That was the case for Ben and Shirley, two short emails and a flight to Santorini, after that it was all downhill. We started making images inside the breathtaking Andronis boutique hotel and then we walked every little road of Oia and Pirgos. Guys thanks for everything, let’s do another photo session in Hong Kong !
